Reactive Hazards in Scaling Up: Worksheets
In this exercise, you will learn about the Reactive Chemical Explosion that happened at the T2 Laboratories. You will analyse the chemistry of the individual steps in the process and watch a video of the incident prepared by the US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board to understand why the incident occurred and suggest how the process could be made safer.
The briefing sheet and questions are available here. After you have completed the exercise, you can compare your answers with the model answer sheet.
