Environmental Legislation
Earlier in this Topic, we learned about Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), which is essential to protect patients by ensuring safety. In this module, we will learn more about the EU and member state legislation that protects the environment, workers, and facilities.
In Europe, the key legislation covering manufacturing is the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED). The IED, along with some of the other legislation relevant to the use of chemicals in manufacturing, are introduced.
It should be noted that environmental laws/regulations are time specific and subject to change.
