Reaction Calorimetry

Reaction calorimetry can be used in safety studies to provide a process hazard ranking via analysis of the heat evolution of the desired reaction. Reaction calorimetry can also assist with process optimisation, for example, by calculating safe dilution ratios and safe dosing time.  In this video, Denis Prat looks more at reaction calorimetry in more detail including how to read a thermogram, the fundamental calorimetric formulae and the identification of thermal hazards.
